The One-World Library Project will host Tea Growing
in Taiwan: A taste of tea culture and farming methods in the high mountains
of Taiwan. The talk and tea tasting by John Wetzel, the creator
and owner of Stone Leaf Teahouse
in Middlebury, will take place at the Lawrence Memorial Library in Bristol
on Thursday, October 22, at 6:30 p.m. In the spring of 2008, John and
a few tea friends embarked on a trip to the mountains of Taiwan by motor
scooter. Tasting teas by day and camping by night, they found a good taste
of Taiwan's tea farming culture. Here they met the farmers, watched them
process their prized tea, and tasted it with them upon finishing. We will
explore how these teas are made and the stories behind them.
For more information call 453-4147. The Lawrence Memorial Library is
located at 40 North Street in Bristol Village.
